The U.K Ministry of Defence Lost 440 Storage Devices in 2008

2008 was a record year for the U.K military, especially when it comes to the number of storage devices lost. Here's how the 440 number breaks down to:
- 217 Laptops
- 96 USB Drives
- 80 Hard drives
- 47 Desktop computers
We won't venture into guessing what happened to them, but we can imagine that losing USB drives can be fairly easy. Now the question is : what data was in the lost items and was it encrypted? For the moment, the Ministry of Defense doesn't seem to panic, but it's surprising that so many computers can disappear from a sensitive ministry.
