We've been following the Asus P835 (Galaxy 7) for some time, and we can finally report that it has been launched by ASUS. The P835 is a touch phone that runs on Windows Mobile 6.1. It has an excellent 3.5" display (800x480) and comes with its own finger-friendly user interface "skin" to replace the stylus-oriented Windows Mobile 6.1. It also uses Opera Mobile instead of Pocket Explorer, probably for the best. You will notice that it has a trackball that looks similar to what can be found on Blackberry phones. That's an interesting touch because "optical mice" used by other manufacturers don't convince at all. Finally, this phone can share its 3G connection via WIFI with computers and act as a 3G wireless router - that's a cool feature.
The specifications are impressive: 3G+, GPS, WIFI, 5 megapixel camera, 4GB of memory (in addition of the MicroSD slot). It will be available as an unlocked phone, but won't work on AT&T networks in the U.S for now (850Mhz band missing)
