Asus To Reduce Eee PC Headcount
Posted on Feb 12, 09 08:47 AM PDT

At long last, some of the folks at Asus have had some common sense knocked into their heads - they will apparently reduce the number of Eee PC models from this year onwards. This is one rumor that has been confirmed by Asus CEO Jerry Shen, and it makes perfect sense. After all, Acer's Aspire One netbook that came in just one model last year outsold every single Eee PC combined - so it goes to show that strength in model numbers and varieties don't really count against good old common sense. It remains to be seen which Eee PC netbook will bite the dust in this "retrenchment exercise" by Asus, although we're pretty sure the recently released models are here to stay - at least for a while.
