Blister Radio Goes Green
Posted on Feb 19, 09 10:03 AM PDT

If you're thinking of taking the next step in going green, how about picking up the Blister Radio? This common consumer electronics device is made out of PLA - a biodegradable, thermoplastic, aliphatic polyester material that is sourced from renewable stuff such as cornstarch and sugarcane, making it a whole lot more environmentally friendly during (and after) the manufacturing process compared to other portable radios which feature injection-molded cases with vacuum-formed packaging components. In order to keep in line with the eco-friendly theme, the Blister Radio features a solar panel at the back that keeps its internal batteries juiced up at all times. If only this concept would be turned into reality.
