Google Ocean Goes Underwater
Posted on Feb 2, 09 08:07 PM PDT

We have Google Earth, and we guess it is a matter of time before Google Ocean is released. This mapping software will include large sections of the ocean floor as well as abyssal plains, allowing users to dive under a dynamic water surface while exploring the 3D sea floor terrain without having to obtain a diver's license in the first place. Google Ocean will also include up to 20 content layers which hold information from the world's leading scientists, researchers, and ocean explorers. Guess visiting underwater volcanoes is no longer something you can watch on National Geographic or read about it in magazines, but actually experience it virtually for yourself.
