Konarka Organic Thin-Film Solar Cell Modules

Konarka has successfully developed a range of organic thin-film solar cell modules which were made possible thanks to a roll-to-roll process, and the unprecedented flexibility of such prototypes allow them to be attached to a bag and used as a power source of an electronic paper. The energy conversion efficiency of these super thin solar cells stand at 4% currently within a building, and around thereabouts when one is outside. It seems as though the outdoor efficiency is a wee bit lower due to "their high circuit resistance impacts more as current increases". Translucent solar cells are also available from Konarka, and having these on our ceilings and windows will definitely revolutionize the power industry.
