MT2 Table Challenges Microsoft Surface
Posted on Feb 5, 09 09:26 AM PDT

The MT2 Table will certainly be mistaken for the Microsoft Surface at first glance, as this is also a multit-touch table to begin with. It measures 50" across diagonally with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels, and that makes it bigger and sharper than Microsoft's offering. The MT2 Table is able to respond to multiple points of contact across the display while recognizing gestures, and has been developed for museum use. Hopefully that doesn't mean regular folks at the museum will lose their jobs. Other features include an aircraft-grade aluminum frame, a thick tempered glass top, a 2,100 ANSI projector with a 2,000:1 contrast ratio. You can catch the MT2 Table in action at The Don Harrington Discovery Center in Amarillo, Texas and Vulcan Park and Museum in Birmingham, Alabama.
