Novatel Wireless Unveils New Devices
Posted on Feb 12, 09 12:15 AM PDT

Novatel Wireless engineers must've been pretty busy in the past few months with a trio of new products being developed - namely the Ovation MC995D USB modem, the Expedite E970D and E960D embedded mini card modules. All three of them will feature integrated GPS capabilities as well as access to high-speed HSPA networks, capable of reaching 7.2Mbps download rates and a maximum 5.7Mbps upload speed (that's in theory, of course, so expect real world performance to experience a dip). Both the MC995D and E970D will function in Europe, the Middle East and Asia by adhering to the 900MHz, 1,900MHz and 2,100MHz bands. As for the Ovation MC995D, this USB modem will also support EDGE and GPRS networks, boasting a microSDHC memory card slot. There is no word on pricing, although we do know that the MC995D USB modem will ship this spring.
