Pantech IM-S410 Has Wind Recognition
Posted on Feb 12, 09 01:37 AM PDT

OK, Pantech has caught us squarely in the jaw this time with the IM-S410 handset which features Wind Recognition. No, it doesn't measure the stink from your rear end whenever you break wind, but it is supposedly able to evaluate the amount of “wind” that blows through its microphone, recognizing the sensitivity and wind dynamics which can be translated for use in internal applications including games, Photo Gallery and video among others. For example, the image of a flower will see its petals flit away when you blow into the microphone, or when you blow on an emoticon during a video call, it will be sent to the recipient on the other end of the line. Pretty cute, but otherwise useless as it remains a novelty with no real practical application as yet.
