PlayStation Palmar Hidradentitis

Don't hold on to your PlayStation controllers too tightly the next time round as you could potentially suffer from PlayStation palmar hidradentitis, a new skin disorder that causes painful lesions on the palms similar to patches found on the soles of children's feet once they've engaged in heavy physical activity. According to Vincent Piguet and colleagues at University Hospitals and Medical School of Geneva, "The tight and continuous grasping of the hand-grips together with repeated pushing of the buttons produce minor but continuous trauma to the (palm) surfaces." Folks who are worried about this condition have a simple solution - stay away from the PlayStation for a number of days and you should be right as rain after that. Alternatively, do take frequent breaks as stated in the user manual (who follows those things anyways?).
