Sony LocationPorter Helps Stream Video Wirelessly

Can't disconnect yourself totally from a digital lifestyle? Sounds as though Sony's Location Porter is able to help you out here. All you need to do is connect a compatible camcorder or camera into the LocationPorter which in turn is hooked up to the Internet via a variety of methods, including 3G connectivity or LAN. The former is going to cost you a bomb if you don't subscribe to an unlimited data plan though, so do take note of that lest you get hit by a hefty phone bill at the end of the month. All the live video will be streamed to a different LocationPorter, allowing folks to view the events unfolding via your camera's eye. A single 3G connection is able to stream video in 352 x 240 resolution between 5fps and 15fps at 64 to 160kbps. Needless to say, those who opt for the LAN option will get superior transfer speeds that results in a much smoother video.
