Texas Instruments Shows Android Prototype
Posted on Feb 17, 09 04:24 PM PDT

This Android prototype was on display at the Texas Instrument booth. It might be new or not – the point is that we had not seen it before. What TI was touting is a “no compromise web browsing” (well, isn’t that better for a “mobile internet device”? The OMAP-3 platform powers the prototype and TI was basically showing that they were still a viable hardware platform option for tomorrow’s MIDs. We don’t know… with Intel’s muscles and NVIDIA’s graphics power, it seems like Texas Instrument has a lot of customer education to do. We wish them good luck and we’ll keep an eye on this.
