Toshiba TG01 Touchscreen Phone Comes With Unique Interface

While the world still fawns over the iPhone and its successor, the iPhone 3G, that doesn't mean other cell phone manufacturers are taking things easy - no sir, even Toshiba has taken up the task to introduce a new touchscreen interface of its own which can be found on its latest cell phone, the TG01. This 9.9mm slim handset will feature the latest 3D user interface from Toshiba, and will also come with the following specifications that ought to keep just about any diehard poweruser who wants aesthetics in their handset as well happy.

  • 4.1" WVGA display
  • Qualcomm 1GHz processor
  • Windows Mobile 6.1
  • HSDPA, Wi-Fi connectivity
  • GPS support
  • microSD memory card slot

Answering a call can be done by pressing a button or shaking the handset - not cool if you're on a rocky ride and the phone gets activated accidentally without your knowledge while you share dirty details about your colleagues to others while someone from the office is on the line. There is no word on pricing, but the Toshiba TG01 is tipped to arrive in Europe sometime in Q3 this year and should be equal in stature to the HTC Touch HD in terms of pricing.
