VoIP Star Trek Communicator

The Star Trek Communicator you see here would have been much better off as an actual cell phone, but unfortunately for us, it is now relegated to the role of a USB-connected Skype/VoIP phone. Compatible with Windows XP/Vista and Tiger and above operating systems, the Star Trek Communicator comes with an independent USB sound controller complete with speakerphone and microphone, allowing audio to be routed to and from it at will. Other features include volume control and mute function (with indicator), and a velcro backing for easy wall mounting. At least the manufacturer has decided to include a variety of Trek-inspired sound bytes including "Transporter room ready to beam up.
