BigBelly Solar Powered Trash Compactor
Posted on Mar 13, 09 09:25 AM PDT

The BigBelly is a novel idea that ought to be implemented across a wide range of cities around the world - this public trashcan not only holds your everyday trash as you walk down the street, it is able to do so more thanks to a built-in compacting mechanism. This does not sip a single watt of power, as it is solar powered thanks to a solar panel right on top, helping a city save money on electricity as well as making less trips to collect rubbish since everything inside can be compacted. We're waiting for the day where such trashcans will also come with their own integrated incinerator that is solar powered as well - then there'd no longer be any more need for landfills.
