Images Of Space Captured With Nikon Coolpix
Posted on Mar 20, 09 10:44 AM PDT

How the heck does one snap images of space apart from being an astronaut and smuggling a Nikon Coolpix on board? Well, teens - the pimply group who start to experience puppy love have managed to come up with a rather insteresting solution where they kitten out a balloon with a Nikon Coolpix as well as cutomized electronics, allowing the point-and-shoot digital camera to snap images at heights of 30,000 feet. This is utterly amazing and would be great marketing mileage for Nikon and their line of Coolpix cameras, after all, it is but a $80 digicam and not some sort of high-tech space age device. Once the balloon surpassed 30,000 feet, it went up all the way to 100,000-plus feet before it lost inflation and plummeted to the earth below.
