Nero Move It adds GPU Compute to Its Feature List
Posted on Mar 4, 09 10:56 AM PDT

This is a big deal for NVIDIA: Nero, a company that create software that is widely bundled with electronic devices has added GPU computing to their software. Tens of thousands might get their first taste of GPU computing when they copy their media files using Nero Move It.
Nero Move It does not only copy media files (music, video, photos) from one device to another, it also transcode them to use the optimum resolution and storage space on each target destination. That's where the GPU comes into play: GPU transcoding has proven to be much potentially faster than CPU transcoding. Users with a CUDA compatible graphics card should see a massive performance boost during this process. Expect the GPU compute trend to accelerate with the inclusion of GPU computing in the next Windows and Mac operating systems.
