Shared Electric Scooters A Novel Green Idea
Posted on Mar 12, 09 07:35 AM PDT

Fancy scooting around the city to get from one point to another without polluting the environment? That's exactly what Anton Grimes of the University of New South Wales envisions with his idea of shared electric scooters that can be retro-fitted into current Streetscape Smart Poles. This allows someone to rent a tiny lightweight electronic scooter from a hub, ride it all the way to the intended destination and return the scooter to an empty hub where it will be recharged. It makes us wonder what happens if there aren't enough recharging hubs to go around - what then would happen to this scooter? Perhaps the whole idea needs a little bit more fine tuning in the long run for it to work.
