T-Mobile has just rolled out the webConnect USB laptop stick that is the first 3G networking adapter from the mobile carrier to date. This peripheral is able to play nice with the 1,700MHz networks by supporting faster downloads over HSDPA, while boasting 802.11g Wi-Fi connectivity for the rare few notebooks that do not support this standard. Other features of the T-Mobile webConnect include a microSD memory card slot, a swiveling USB connector and support for both Windows XP and Vista systems in addition to Mac compatibility when downloadable drivers are released later this year. You can pick up the webConnect stick for $50 when it is accompanied by a 5GB data plan, but for those who prefer to fly solo, the price is bumped up to $250.
