It certainly wasn’t a long time coming. A billion app downloads is certainly something to shout about, and getting that achievement done in just 9 months makes it even more special. Of course, the success of the App Store is also due to the success of the iPhone, and vice versa, which is certainly a win-win situation for Apple.
