Cheap Beats Expensive In Survey

Generally speaking, the more expensive a device is, the better it will be compared to a much more affordable version, right? That's not always the case as there are always exceptions to the rule, and here we are with results from a British customer choice awards voted by 500,000 people, where a $25 generic stereo system from Tesco was rated higher compared to $1,000 equipment from companies like Sony and JVC. Needless to say, a customer choice awards is not representative of a scientific listening test, although the innards from both systems might hail from the same factory in China where they're separated at the assembly line to fit various brands as well as in-house versions. Do you have a story of your own where generic beats out branded? Do share with us in the comments.
