Gyms In Space
Posted on Apr 9, 09 07:59 AM PDT

Muscular entropy is a common phenomenon that affects all astronauts, so it is important for them to help combat this process while remaining over a thousand kilometers above the earth by working out in space stations. NASA decided to upgrade their "space gym" with the new Advanced Resistance Exercise Device, also known as aRED, which was installed a couple of months ago inside the International Space Station. This is very compact and yet more powerful than any earthly all-in-one gym set, where aRED hopes to offer astronauts with much-needed muscle work.Currently, the first wave of ISS astronauts are using the aRED, with scientists hoping to evaluate their bodies when they return to earth later on.
