Nanao LCD Monitor with Human Presence Sensor
Posted on Apr 22, 09 10:53 AM PDT

Naneo is adding an infra-red sensor to its monitors to detect a human presence and eventually cut power consumption if no human is detected. It consumes less power in general (18W-25W, depending on models). To provide you with a reference, our Dell 20" 2001FP consumes 90 Watt. The sensor can detect a person within 120cm, based on motion. Two display sizes are available: 20" (1600x1200) and 23" (1920x1080). While the sensor is interesting, the price is too high: the 20" goes for $385. We're pretty sure that a sensor-equipped power strip and a plain 20" goes for less.
