Next iPhone, iPod Touch To Feature FM Transmission and WIFI-N, Maybe
Posted on Apr 7, 09 10:49 AM PDT

If one looks at the communication chips of the next iPhone/ipod Touch, one could see that the Broadcom BCM4325 and BCM4329 support WIFI-N, BT 2.0 and FM radio (versus WIFI-A/B/G in current models). WiFi-N is at least twice as fast, when compared to the "G" flavor. The interesting bit comes from the power management. This particular setup can carry WIFI and Bluetooth information using the same signal path, which reduces the power requirements. At home, it will be a blast, but good luck to find a WiFi-N hotspot in the streets.
