Safari Browser To Offer Sweet Sounds Of Silence
Posted on Apr 24, 09 06:19 AM PDT

We're pretty sure that many of you out there have experienced surfing a website when all of a sudden, a smiley will shout, "Helloooo!", much to your chagrin in the presence of your co-workers and within earshot of your boss' cubicle. Apple aims to cut these irritating forms of advertising with its Safari browser that will come with advanced audio preferences, enabling users to silence audio signals from several or all websites without messing around with audio playback from other non-Web applications that are currently running. These preferences which are stored on your machine can also be kept within a data structure of a network storage device which can then be downloaded onto an iPhone or iPod touch.
