Stryker Medical S3 Hospital Bed

Nobody in their right mind would want to end up in a hospital for weeks or months on end, but they might actually change their mind with the Stryker Medical S3 hospital bed. This unique piece of medical equipment is one of the winners in the 2009 Medical Design Excellence Awards and was fashioned out of a partnership between a bunch of Michigan design and supply firms who were networked together by Stryker. This special hospital bed comes with BackSmart-designed siderails with one-handed operation in mind, alongside an intermediate position for patient assistance during bed entry and exit iBed Awareness as well as three-zone Chaperone Bed Exit System monitor bed status and patient position to further reduce the risk of falling down. It also plays nice with a wide range of nurse call and networking systems, while the retractable frame makes room for proximal location hence reducing the need for patient repositioning.
