Symbian Running On Intel Atom-Powered Device
Posted on Apr 16, 09 10:41 AM PDT

Many people have discussed about what the final outcome will be like when Symbian is combined with S60, and many of these fantasies are limited by business realities instead of technical glass ceilings. A bunch of highly talented dudes in the SOSCO (S60 on Symbian Customer Operations) team have Symbian compiling via GCC and managed to get it up and running on an Atom-based motherboard from Intel. It will be an interesting time ahead for enthusiasts who are looking for a final product solution that will offer yet another option to consumers when it comes to netbook operating systems. The only way that is going to happen though, is to have major business partners stepping in to invest in the development of a product solution.
