Ugobe Files For Bankruptcy, Pleo Dinosaur Goes Extinct
Posted on Apr 21, 09 10:35 AM PDT

Sadly, Ugobe has just filed for bankruptcy and laid off all its employees. Most of you have known the company through its star product: the Pleo dinosaur. To make a long story short, despite rave reviews, the sales were too short to keep the company alive, and Ugobe still had millions of dollars of debt. We think that it is unlikely that another manufacturer buys the intellectual property to produce Pleo. High-end entertainment robots is a tough market. We hope to bump into ex-Ugobe employees when they move onto their next project. [via ahn]
