Dynamic Lamp

This lamp by Karin Johansson resembles the earth, and to keep in line with the green theme, it is powered by one's hands. In fact, it will require you to give it a good twirl or shake in order to transform kinetic energy to light (we would call it the Gambit lamp for all your X-philes out there), courtesy of a dynamo within the globe. The more it spins, the brighter it glows. Here's Johansson's two cents on the lamp, "My Dynamic Lamp is a part of the wireless society. It doesn't need any power supply or batteries, it just works with your own energy. It is based on the idea of producing your energy where you are, instead of transporting it in all directions across the earth. The sole by-product is exercise."
