Intel Medfield Processor To Arrive In Smartphones
Posted on May 14, 09 10:57 AM PDT

Intel has big plans for its Medfield processor that will target a 2011 release, offering smartphones the processing equivalent of a notebook. We're sure this statement refers to the notebook of today in two years' time, but even so, that would be blazing fast by any means. Squeezing in an entire system on a single chip is no mean feat, so we wish Intel all the best. It would be interesting to see how a super fast processor would function in a smartphone, and can battery technology catch up with it to offer a decent battery life?
