How much are folks willing to pay for the new Palm Pre without being tied down to a contract? Well, it seems as though this smartphone is going for $549 without taking up Sprint's 2-year agreement offer. At that price point, it doesn't automatically mean that the handset is unlocked, since Sprint is the exclusive carrier for the Pre for some time to come.
