Verizon Wireless MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot

Verizon Wireless has finally made available the MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot that is pretty much similar to the Novatel unit it's based on, featuring 802.11b/g and EV-DO Rev. A radios alongside the ability to share a 3G Verizon connection with a maximum of five Wi-Fi devices all at once. Battery life isn't that impressive though with just four hours of active use, although you do get up to 40 hours of standby on a single charge. So far Verizon is offering a variety of data plans including a $40 monthly subscription for 250MB and 10 cents per MB overages, or $60 for 5GB and half the overages price. Folks who are heavy duty users can always pay the full price for the MiFi and benefit from a $15 24 hour "DayPass" for $15. The MiFi 2200 will be available this May 17th for $100 after a $50 mail-in rebate.
