Vodafone Drops International Roaming Charges
Posted on May 14, 09 07:39 AM PDT

Vodafone has done something unprecedented - they hold the distinction of being the first mobile operator to abolish roaming charges, which enables their customers to make as many phone calls as they like while overseas, paying the same price as though they were calling a local number. From July onwards, roaming services across Europe will have a limit of 10p a text, while downloading 1MB of information won't cost you anything more than 92p according to standard rates. For Vodafone's "Passport" customers, June 1st can't come fast enough as they can talk, text and send pictures to friends from over 35 countries for the same price they would pay at home. We wonder when will mobile operators Stateside follow suit, if ever.
