Yazaki Concept Cluster Display
Posted on Jun 4, 09 12:36 PM PDT

Yazaki is offering a conceptual system that will feature a fully reconfigurable, open-source gauge cluster that can basically deliver various levels of information simultaneously while looking cool to lend you additional street cred. It relies on a TFT LCD display powered by Linux, using the OpenGL graphics system to provide the possibility of video game-like graphics, although it would be prudent not to distract the driver from the road. Basically, if one has the technical know-how, he/she is able to program a display of speed, tachometer, oil pressure and tempurature gauges alongside navigation with real time traffic, vehicle system overviews, backup camera views, and hybrid system status.
