iPhone 3G For $49 at Fido

Fido is introducing what it calls a "Refreshed iPhone 3G". What does it mean? These are phones that were returned within days of activation and the 8GB model can sell for as low as $49 with a new contract. Given what the total cost of ownership of an iPhone hovers around $2000 over a couple of years, would this make you jump the gun? [link]
