Safe Cracker Looks Mischevious
Posted on Jul 24, 09 09:54 AM PDT

Forget about going to the school of hard knocks to learn how to crack safes - Carlos discovered a way by creating his very of robot known as the Safe Cracker (how obvious), using parts from a Pololu Micro Serial Servo Controller that is stashed within a rejected PC power supply. Unfortunately, the Safe Cracker does not have what it takes to pop open even a simple safe configuration because the servo motor and gearing are not precise enough to turn the dial reliably. Carlos hopes to improve on this by working on a stepper motor next.
