Wearable Artificial Kidney

The Wearable Artificial Kidney (WAK) is a real breakthrough in dialysis as it is a miniaturized dialysis machine which can be worn to look like a belt. The WAK concept will provide patients with the opportunity to move about freely despite suffering from end stage renal failure, as one can always undergo uninterrupted dialysis treatment when wearing the WAK. It weighs 10 pounds and requires a couple of 9V batteries to provide sufficient juice, allowing one to engage in various physical activities including walking, working and riding a bike.
