Wireless pacemaker installed
Posted on Aug 11, 09 09:44 AM PDT

The world's first pacemaker equipped with wireless home monitoring has just been installed, or should we say, grafted, in a patient. This enables physicians and doctors to monitor the patient's health as and when required without having for the patient to travel all the way to the hospital. The wireless pacemaker will download information an average of once a day, sending relevant results to the doctor so that immediate decisions can be made just in case something crops up. This seems to be a whole lot better compared to current situations where patients can be monitored only when they are in hospital.
