Electrolux Concept Grows Meat

It certainly looks like we’re aiming to have a future akin to that of a Jetsons cartoon. In a recent design contest sponsored by Electrolux, the winner was a device called the Cocoon. While the name might remind you of icky bugs, rest assured the desired effect of this concept design is a tasty and satisfying one. It’s supposed to heat pre-mixed food packets containing muscle cells, oxygen and other nutrients to “grow” meat. It does make people wonder if we could achieve similar results with the ingredients and a microwave, don’t you think?
