Leica M9 digital camera
Posted on Sep 9, 09 08:27 AM PDT

Leica has just rolled out the M9 digital camera, boasting a full frame version of its M-mount rangefinder. It comes with a rather impressive 18-megapixel sensor and is touted to be "the world's smallest full-frame system camera", and we aren't going to argue with that. The M9 will feature some minor rearrangements of the button compared to the M8, but most of the changes are internal. Coming in a steel gray finish, the M9 features a Kodak-developed CCD sensor that offers improved offset microlenses in order to optimize performance at the edges of the frame, while a sensor cover helps improve filtering of infrared light, doing away with the need for lens-mounted IR filters in the process. Other features include an easy to access ISO adjustment button with a handful of hotkeys and a heart-attack inducing £4,850 price point.
