Seagate FreeAgent Theater+ HD network media player
Posted on Sep 15, 09 07:55 AM PDT

Seagate's latest FreeAgent Theater+ HD network media player will be a boon to any living room that wants to spice things up a bit - after all, it will help increase the maximum resolution for video to 1080p while throwing in support for DTS and Dolby Digital audio. If you happen to have extra RJ45 cables lying around, you can also hook up the FreeAgent Theater+ HD to your home network via Ethernet, letting it stream content from different computers over the local network. Of course, if you're all for the wireless lifestyle, then the optional 802.11n Wi-Fi adapter would come in handy, occupying one of the three available USB 2.0 ports. The remaining ports can be connected to a portable hard drive for additional storage. A driveless kit is going for $150, while one with the 500GB FreeeAgent Go inside will retail for $290. Expect to see the wireless option arrive next month for $70 a pop.
