Acer Announces Liquid Android Phone

Acer certainly looks like it’s going to heat up the cell phone wars, and to emphasize that, it has officially announced the Acer Liquid, Acer’s first Android-powered smartphone. To give you something to drool over, the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s 1GHz 768Mhz Snapdragon processor, making it the first Android-device to use that chip. Aside from that, it will also have a high-definition WVGA capacitive touchscreen, and will be powered by Android 1.6 (a.k.a. Donut). There isn’t an official release date or price tag at the moment, but we’re fairly sure that information will be out sooner rather than later, so stay tuned! Acer’s press release can be found here.
