Apple purchases Placebase

Apple's purchase of Placebase will see competition heat up with Google, who owns their own Maps software that is currently available on the iPhone. This move would probably see Apple slowly phase out other Google-related products and apps on the iPhone as Apple intends to make more money from this acquisition in the long run. Google Maps for the iPhone could very well be obsolete in the near future, with PolicyMap-derived technology from Placebase to be featured instead.
