Barnes and Noble eBook early details
Posted on Oct 14, 09 10:06 AM PDT

The upcoming Barnes & Noble will use E-ink just as expected but its screen also supports multi-touch. That begs the question: how will the multi-touch user interface work? The reader should let users access all the public domain books available via Google. There's no word on the supported file formats and if there will be digital rights managements involved. Personally, what I'm the most curious about is that section of the screen that is in color in that photo. It seems to be where the virtual keyboard is as well, so I'm guessing that the multi-touch UI will work on that particular section of the screen, like a trackpad. [via teleread, gizmodo]
