Garmin G1000 to get certification
Posted on Oct 21, 09 06:03 AM PDT

Garmin's G1000 flightdeck is about to obtain certification for use on selected models of the Cessna CitationJet, where it will feature a large 12? multi-function display (MFD) and a couple of 10.4? primary flight displays (PFD) alongside Garmin’s very own GFC 700 three-axis, fully digital, dual channel, fail passive automatic flight control system (AFCS) . Other features include wide area augmentation system (WAAS) approaches, vertical navigation, flight level change (FLC), synthetic vision technology (SVT), FMS with dual WAAS LPV, Class-B terrain awareness and warning system (TAWS), dual integrated solid-state attitude and heading reference systems (AHRS), and dual integrated digital air data computers. The lightweight and modular design gives users a weight savings of approximately 100 pounds. All jet owners who want this will have to wait sometime until Q2 2010, giving potential jet owners some time to save up as well.
