Kindle 2 experiences another price drop
Posted on Oct 7, 09 01:57 AM PDT

The Amazon Kindle 2 has received yet another price drop - touching an all time low of $259 from its precious price of $299. This makes a 28% cut since its debut from 8 months ago. Guess Amazon is feeling the heat from competitors such as Sony, Google, Plastic Logic and others who have released e-book readers of some sort in recent times. According to Jeff Bezos, Amazon is in a strong position to reduce its pricing due to larger production and sales volume which has resulted in cost reduction, and these will be passed down to the customers. Folks who picked up the Kindle 2 for $299 in the last month can always call Amazon Kindle support and ask for a $40 rebate - that's nice fo them - how come Apple doesn't offer such a plan with their iPods?
