Robotic cockroach is cheap, resilient and fast
Posted on Oct 16, 09 01:46 AM PDT
This robot can survive an 8-story fall, run around fairly quickly (see the video), and it costs very little to build. Most of its properties are derived from the light (16g) and flexible material it is built from: cardboard. Granted, it doesn't do much right now, but I bet that you could add a listening devices, some sensors and even a camera without fundamentally changing its qualities. Now, if it could run on a wireless source of power... :)
