3M Film Bestows 3D To Naked Eye

It certainly looks like 3D is going to be an important technology when it comes to display technology in 2010. 3M has recently demonstrated an optical film that can allow us to view 3D images on an LCD panel with the naked eye. This is achieved by dome-shaped lenses that are on the top side of the film, while the back side has prism-like structures. This allows the light from the LED light source to take on a direction, and project different images to each eye, giving us the illusion of 3D. It’s also easy to switch between 2D images, as all it has to do is just revert to displaying the same image. Quite cool, and we’re looking forward to more 3D technology in the future.
