AverTVMedia launches a DVR that records mobile content
Posted on Nov 10, 09 02:15 PM PDT

This AVerTV HD DVR PCI 1x card can record shows from a set top box (cable or satellite) to your PC via two HDMI inputs. It produces H.264 content for mobile devices: the output resolution is only 320x240, which is smaller than most modern smartphone displays (why call it "HD" then?!). It will also record anything (not DRM protected) that connects via HDMI (computers, game consoles, DVD). If you wonder, the recording is not accelerated by the card, so a fast dual-core or a quad-core is preferred. The card costs $99.
