China Unicom moves 5,000 iPhones

Guess the iPhone 3GS didn't make that huge an impact in China as most people thought, as China Unicom signed up a mere 5,000 iPhone subscribers during the first four days of its availability. The carrier is pleased with its performance though, despite sales figures that certainly won't come near what the US and Europe are able to achieve, and what more in a country that has over a billion in terms of population. Perhaps their lack of purchasing power is a main criteria in sluggish sales, but lets give it a couple of years to see if there is any progress.
